  • Vacuum Bagging Films

Bagging films are recommended for the moulding of elaborate forms. Advantages : good mechanical and chemical resistance, important elongation rate, non porous, cost effective. The most standard product for vacuum moulding is our polyamide bagging film PA205. Our new high performance bagging film PO180 with a 50 μ thickness helps to reduce wastes. You can also use our new generation of high elasticity extruded advanced copolymer films, like DIABAG, which has exceptional conformable characteristics, particularly when applied to awkward shapes with deep recesses or undercuts. It permits the moulding of complex forms, save time and wastes.

The new nylon bagging film Ref. PO180 limits waste. Used for vacuum moulding, 50µ of PO180 is equivalent to 75µ traditional film. It is available in lay-flat tubing and sheet.

PO180 is suitable with polyester and epoxy resins, its composition based on polyamide and polypropylene provides good mechanical and chemical properties.

ELASTIBAG is a very resistant film developed for debulding operations or for low temperature curing (below 80°C). Associated with sealant tape LSM6000, it allows a large numbers of cycles because the sealant tape don’t dirty the film. Its high deformability of 800% can match the most complex forms without the port.

  • Sealant Tapes

Sealant tapes compatible with most bagging films. Also know as tacky tapes.

Ideal for use on all type of tools.

Sealant tapes are used to seal the vacuum bagging film to the tool surface.

  • Peel Plies

Complete range of peel plies : from 64 to 139 gr/m2, dyed, white or undyed with stripes, polyamide or polyester, bands or full Width.

Peel plies are used to impart a textured surface to the moulded component to improve adhesion in secondary bonding or painting.

All our peel plies are treated in order to remove all pollutant products (like silicones for example) which could be find on the laminate.

The porosity of our peel plies is under control in order to guarantee the repetitiveness of the infusion process.

  • Net Bleeder

Net bleeders make resin flow across the dry laminates easier during vacuum infusion process.

We offer a short number of cost-effective and high performance net bleeders to help you get the bbest results in your infusions with any king or thermosetting resin.

  • Breather Felts

In Castro Composites we offer a simple non woven breather felts range made of polyester fibres.
These are recommended for the moulding of elaborate forms.

VACUOPEEL™ and VACUOPLEX™ are multilayer systems (without adhesive or glue) used in manufacturing processes for vacuum moulding of composite materials with techniques such as prepreg, wet lay-up, and thermoplastic.

  • Perforated Release Films

Belonging to the polyolefin family, these films have a good chemical and thermal resistance for a low cost.

Perforated release films with a large range of resins.
Do not use with autoclave process.

  • Fittings / Connectors

Castro Composites offers you a complete range of accessories for vacuum moulding in oven and autoclave.

    • Vacuum plugs
    • Connectors
    • Threaded fitting valves
    • Quick coupling sockets and plugs
    • Metallic vacuum valves
    • etc.

  • Vacuum pump and...

In this section we offer good range of vaccum pumps for most short and medium size processes with composites.

You will also find a wide range of vacuum accessories to help you develop and maintain your vacuum set-up.

Vacuum pumps are typically classified by the horsepower of the motor, the volume of air displaced in cubic meter per hour (CMH) or cubic feet per hour (CFH), type of pumping mechanism (piston, rotary vane, diaphragm, etc.) and the maximum attainable vacuum pressure in Bar or inches of mercury ("Hg.).

It is very important to match the bag size, desired vacuum level, and pressure with that of the pump for best results. While a smaller pump can often attain a desired vacuum level on a large system, it will take much longer to achieve that level. Also, if a leak is present in a system which exceeds the CMH or CFH rating of the pump, even a partial vacuum will be difficult to achieve. If a pump can not achieve full vacuum in less than five to ten minutes, the pump is probably too weak. Selecting the correct pump for an application is based on total area of the mould. By squeezing as much air out of the bag as soon as possible before sealing the bag and applying the vacuum, the work of the pump can be greatly reduced.
