Polyurethane sheets
This category brings together polyurethane sheets and a hybrid core option combining foam with glass fibres. These are differently constructed materials: plain foam sheet should not be confused with a reinforced core for sandwich structures.
What to consider when choosing
Identifying the sheet construction
Reinforced foam for sandwich construction
The hybrid core incorporates glass fibre connections within the foam and is documented for composite manufacture. That architecture is part of the material's behaviour and impregnation process; it is not a property of every polyurethane sheet.
Comparing construction, not just thickness
When choosing a sheet, check which data and applications are documented for the reference. Only format and density are specified for the plain sheet. Do not assume it is suitable for the hybrid core's structural uses.
Other options for the project
For a core of another composition, compare PVC foams, PET foams and other sandwich core materials. Substitution between materials requires reviewing the design and process.
