What to consider when choosing

Preparing patterns and restoring surfaces

Start by identifying whether you are working on a master pattern or an existing mould. Primecoat is described for timber, MDF and glass fibre; polishing compounds and accessories refine the surface finish. Modelling clay and red wax are intended for modelling and pattern preparation. Consult mould and pattern preparation to choose by operation, not as a single treatment.

Cleaning, sealing and release

A cleaner removes the residues it is formulated for; a sealer conditions porosity; a release agent facilitates separation. Chemlease 15 Sealer EZ is described for new and refurbished moulds, while waxes, polyvinyl alcohol and semi-permanent agents provide different release approaches. Compare sealers and release agents by resin and geometry. Finishing and polishing products improve the surface but do not replace the release system.
