Vacuum pumps and their accessories are used for infusion, laminate consolidation and the preparation of certain resin systems. The selection includes vacuum equipment, resin traps, vacuum gauges, leak detectors and degassing chambers.

Equipping an infusion or consolidation process

Assembly size and configuration influence equipment choice. Compare each pump's specified flow rate, achievable vacuum and operating controls; power alone is not enough. Resin traps are fitted in the circuit to prevent resin entering the pump.

Measuring vacuum and locating leaks

Vacuum gauges check the assembly's vacuum, while detectors help locate leaks. Regulators have a different role from the pump: they control the applied vacuum in specific configurations. Complete the circuit with vacuum ports and connections.

Degassing resins and silicones

Vacuum chambers are used to degas resin mixtures or silicones intended for moulds, depending on the material and process. This differs from consolidating a bagged part. For equipment maintenance, select the oil specified for the pump model.
