What to consider when choosing

Making the part and its mould

For boats, glass- or carbon-fibre components and wind-energy structures, select resins alongside reinforcement fibres and process. Decorative castings such as river tables and figures need different formulations. Mould-making silicones reproduce detail and release complex shapes; products cover resin, wax or concrete, with separate references for body casting.

Bonding and repair

Adhesives and fillers cover panel assembly, boat joints, core bonding and surface repair. A structural joint, hull fairing and filling wind-blade pores are different tasks: choose by material, geometry and function.

Preparing surfaces and finishes

Primers prepare the substrate before laminating, coating or finishing. Select the product according to the surface and the material to be applied afterwards.

Gelcoats and topcoats provide surface-layer choices by mould, part and application method. Paints and varnishes add colour and visible-finish options. Check intercoat compatibility and substrate preparation; check special performance, such as fire behaviour, in the documentation for the particular system.
