PMI foams for sandwich cores
The PMI, or polymethacrylimide, foams in this selection belong to the industrial ROHACELL IG-F range. They are intended as composite cores for automotive, medical and industrial applications, with products documented for different moulding processes.

Selecting a PMI core
Cores for prepregs, infusion and RTM
The IG-F range covers manufacture with prepregs, as well as infusion and RTM within each product's conditions. Consider the working cycle and skin construction; choosing a foam by its chemical name is not enough.
Machining and shaping
Machining and thermoforming allow core geometry to be prepared according to the process described for the material. Compare available density and thickness with design needs, without assigning applications from other PMI ranges to these industrial grades.
Comparison with other cores
You can compare the selection with other sandwich cores and PPSU foams when the project calls for different materials to be considered. Properties and process limits belong to each product.
