Two ways to prepare the laminate
Reinforcement fibres come as fabrics, tapes, sleeves and other formats. Prepregs are selected by both fibre and resin system. This difference affects the manufacturing process and work planning.
Before choosing a prepreg, check the supply, storage and curing conditions in its data sheet. For work with liquid resin, browse the fibre families and verify the specific material's compatibility with the planned process.
Applications and material selection
For parts and moulds, CTXL600 triaxial carbon combines several fibre directions. UD tape serves a different need: concentrating reinforcement in a laminate band. Biaxial glass and carbon add oriented-layer options; choose by the intended arrangement, not equal-weight substitution.
Within reinforcement fibres, compare these dry formats with visible-finish fabrics, tube sleeves and materials for sports or marine applications. Prepregs already include resin and require a different manufacturing process: select the system together with its storage and curing equipment.
