PVC foams for sandwich cores

PVC foams for sandwich cores are used between the fibre-and-resin skins of a composite part. The range includes products for marine, transport and wind-energy applications, with different densities, thicknesses and sheet finishes.

Cores for composite parts and panels

In sandwich construction, the core forms part of the laminate design alongside the skins. The catalogue's PVC products serve sectors such as marine, wind blades and transport components. Selection depends on the part and process, not simply the thickness to be added.

Sheets for flat or curved surfaces

Grid cuts and mesh backings help certain sheets follow the mould's curvature. Other versions feature grooves or perforations for infusion. Check the particular finish: two sheets of the same density may have different preparations.

Choosing the core and process

Compare these options with PET foam cores or balsa wood according to the project requirements. For infusion, coordinate the core with the resin, reinforcement fibres and vacuum materials.
