Multiaxial carbon fibre reinforcement
Multiaxial carbon fibre materials for manufacturing composite parts and moulds. Compare biaxial, triaxial and quadriaxial constructions according to the laminate's fibre orientations.
What to consider when choosing
Choosing multiaxial carbon
Products bring together layers oriented in different directions and stitched together. This construction should be distinguished from conventional woven fabric and unidirectional material; similar areal weights do not mean the same fibre arrangement.
Check the product data sheet for fibre type, orientations and intended resin. Material selection must follow the part design, whether you are manufacturing a part or constructing a mould.
Applications and material selection
For parts and moulds, triaxial and quadriaxial references combine several fibre directions in stitched layers. Match each layer's orientation to the intended laminate; biaxials with different fibre orientations are not equivalent even at the same weight.
For a specific additional direction browse UD carbon fibre material; for a woven visible face, compare carbon fibre fabrics.
