Glass and aramid hybrid fabrics
Glass and aramid hybrid materials for manufacturing composite parts. Products in this selection combine hybrid fabrics with glass fibre mat; compare the complete construction, not just the fibre names.
What to consider when choosing
Hybrid fabrics with glass fibre mat
The catalogue includes biaxial and twill constructions combined with a glass fibre mat layer. These are different compositions and should not be interchanged because they have a similar areal weight.
Check the data sheet to identify the layers and the resin suited to the process. For other fibre combinations, return to the hybrid fabric family; for aramid-only material, use its specific selection.
Applications and material selection
Araglass 540 and VK390T with glass fibre mat are described for parts where impact resistance matters. The former uses a biaxial construction, the latter twill. Choose the fibre arrangement your part requires. Similar weight does not make these materials interchangeable.
Without glass, compare aramid fabrics; for other glass-mat combinations, glass fibre combinations.
