What to consider when choosing

Aramid for laminates, joints and tubular parts

Choose fabrics for covering surfaces, tapes for localised areas and sleeves for tubular shapes. Product applications include cosmetic uses and work where impact behaviour forms part of material selection.

Choose aramid fibres according to the laminate design and the product's documented application. You will also find hybrid fabrics combining aramid with other fibres, which differ from an aramid-only fabric.

Applications and material selection

For kayak, paddleboard or personal-watercraft hull-to-deck joints, aramid tapes offer references documented for that joint line. Woven, braided or UD selection follows the intended orientation and working geometry.

For lightweight visible parts, aramid fabrics include cosmetic plain weaves. References for cut-resistant garments and accessories are a separate selection; they do not certify every fabric or finished item as protective equipment. For variable-diameter tubes, dry aramid sleeves adapt within each reference's range.

Compare fibre brand, areal weight and resin alongside format. Kevlar, Twaron and Heracron identify particular fibres, not a universal lay-up recipe.
