Choosing tape by construction and use

Plain weave tapes and unidirectional strips have different fibre arrangements. Described applications include work on marine parts and wind turbine blades, always subject to the design and material data sheet.

Adhesive tape for holding fabrics and cores in place during infusion does not replace a strip intended for the laminate. Review each product's function before comparing width or supply format.

Applications and material selection

For repairs where surface finish matters, Silionne UTE 80 tape is specifically described for that work. UD bands cover reinforcement in wind-turbine blades and boats. GLAS 50 AD is instead an adhesive tape for positioning fabrics and cores during infusion or consolidation, not an equivalent reinforcement band.
