Crystic 15PA(S) is formulated for making composite moulds with unsaturated polyester or vinyl ester resins. The spray version of Resolcoat VI 5090 is described for vinyl ester and epoxy moulds and compatible epoxy laminates. This distinction guides the purchase: first identify the resin forming the mould, then the gelcoat forming its working surface.

Choosing the version and equipment

Choose the spray version, not a similarly named brush product. The vinyl ester brush gelcoat range allows comparison of the other method without transferring its settings. Pattern and mould preparation covers the preceding finishing operations; pattern quality and its release system must be addressed before spraying gelcoat.
