Hello, I have bought a bottle of topcoat to be applied with a roller and I have painted some panels of the boat and I would like to give a second coat, where I bought it I asked them and they told me to apply acetone first and to give it another coat, but there have been marks of the roller. With another coat they go away or do I have to carefully pass a 600 sandpaper?
We recommend sanding before applying a second coat. Ideally, you should do it with a thicker sandpaper, 320-400, so that it generates a good mechanical anchor. Leaving a completely mark-free finish is complex, so once that second coat is dry you will have to sand, polish and polish. At that point you can start with a 600-800 or even 1000, it all depends on how you finished.
