Crestafire® GCS 1001PA is a pre-accelerated, low smoke fire retardant intumescent polyester based gelcoat. It incorporates new intumescent technology and has been formulated for spray application. When exposed to fire, Crestafire® GCS 1001PA forms a foamed cellular charred layer on its surface, which offers protection to the whole composite. Crestafire® GCS 1001PA is available in a restricted range of colours and is designed to be post-painted.

Formulation
Crestafire® GCS 1001PA should be allowed to attain a working temperature between 23°C-25°C before use for best spraying application. Stir well by hand or with a low shear stirrer to avoid aeration and then allow to stand to regain thixotropy. Crestafire® GCS 1001PA requires only the addition of a medium reactivity MEKP (50%) type catalyst to start the curing reaction. The catalyst should be added at 2.0% into the gelcoat and then thoroughly incorporated with a low shear mechanical stirrer where possible.
Certifications
Cured composite laminates manufactured with Crestafire® P1-3001PA and Crestafire® GCS 1001PA gelcoat can achieve HL2 - R1/R7/R10/R17 classification according to European standard EN 45545-2:2013.
Resin caracteristics
The gel time of this resin at 20°C with 1.5% PMEC 50% catalyst is 18 to 22 minutes.
The deformation temperature under load (1.80 MPa) is 60°C when the resin is fully cured (see technical data sheet).

ADR (DANGEROUS GOODS)
Some products will be considered dangerous goods (ADR) when their container exceed certain amounts. ADR products must be transported by special transport agencies, such as DACHSER or TXT.
* The following products will be considered ADR (Dangerous Goods) when their container EXCEED the values shown in the table below. Products of equal or smaller size than those shown will not be considered ADR, so they may be transported also by SEUR/DPD and GLS.

If you have selected a product whose container size is considered ADR and you choose SEUR or Correos EXPRESS as carrier, those ADR products will be transferred into smaller containers to not breach the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road. That is, if you order a 25 kg resin drum and you select SEUR or Correos Express as carrier because you need the products sooner, the resin will be supplied in 5 containers of 5 kg each and its catalyst will be supplied in 5 containers of 100 g.
In any case, drums bigger than 25 kg must be shipped by TXT or Dachser.
* Shippings to Portugal will be always carried by Torrestir
