The 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ 490 epoxy adhesive is a black, two-component, thixotropic epoxy designed for gap filling, with excellent application performance. It is intended for use where high strength and hardness are required.

Withstands high temperatures up to 120 °C. High impact resistance and outstanding stability under dynamic and static loads. Excellent performance in terms of strength and wear resistance. Thanks to its thixotropic formulation, it can be easily applied to vertical surfaces. Particularly suitable for bonding composite materials and metals (including aluminum). The product stands out for its excellent environmental and heat resistance.

The 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ DP490 epoxy adhesive is a black, two-component, thixotropic epoxy designed for gap filling with excellent application properties. It is ideal where high toughness and strength are required and provides particular advantages for bonding composites. It has excellent heat resistance (up to 120 °C) and environmental durability.

It offers high impact resistance and outstanding stability under static and dynamic loads. Its thixotropic formulation allows easy vertical application without dripping. Especially recommended for bonding composite materials and metals (including aluminum).

Other properties:

  • Cures at room temperature; curing can be accelerated with mild heat.
  • Gel time: 163 min, allowing sufficient repositioning time.
  • Simple 2:1 mix ratio.
  • Thixotropic: does not sag on vertical surfaces.
  • Bonds to difficult surfaces like powder paints and many plastics.
  • Service temperature range: -55 °C to +120 °C.
