Identify the foam
Confirm whether the substrate is expanded polystyrene or polyurethane foam. Do not extrapolate to every foam.
Coatings / EPS · models · scenery
Before buying resin to coat expanded polystyrene, verify system compatibility with the substrate. The Recapoli PE3680PA data sheet explicitly covers adhesion to EPS and polyurethane foams.

Before you buy
Confirm whether the substrate is expanded polystyrene or polyurethane foam. Do not extrapolate to every foam.
Plan a fibre-reinforced coating and subsequent finish. Before coating the part, test the system on a sample of the foam you will use.
Review catalyst addition, reinforcement and final finish for the project. Resin compatibility does not validate a complete combination.

Documented selection
PE3680PA for coatings requiring adhesion to expanded polystyrene or polyurethane foams.
Apply a laminate with glass fibre, veil or mat over the foam, rather than a thin film of resin alone: that application can attack polystyrene and cure poorly. Test the specific foam and reinforcement first.
