RESOLTECH 8050L / 8059 is an ultra-fast curing and easy-to-sand epoxy filler. It is a premium option to replace polyester filler putties.
Due to its very fast curing characteristics, it is best used in cartridges and is particularly suitable for quick repairs of cracks in molds, finishing small surface defects, caulking between assembly elements... Particularly recommended for repairing surface cracks in composite material parts.
It is compatible with all substrates such as wood, steel, aluminum, and composites.
Specially formulated with low density, it can be applied up to 5 mm on a vertical surface and 10 mm on a horizontal surface in a single coat, with minimal shrinkage during curing, unlike polyurethane or polyester-based products.
Once cured, the 8050L / 8059 filler putty offers waterproof and impact-resistant behavior. Its Shore hardness of 70 D allows it to resist vibrations well.
The 8050L / 8059 formulation will help improve worker health and safety and follows the latest EU regulation (CE) n°453/2010 and contains no carcinogenic materials (CMR) or solvents.
When sanded, the surface of this system is smooth enough to be directly coated with the high-thickness epoxy primer RESOLCOAT 3010T / 3014T and is compatible with all paints and primers.
Mixing ratio by weight and volume: 1/1
APPLICATION
- 8050L / 8059 is only available in a two-component cartridge. It is possible to use a cartridge multiple times if several static mixers per cartridge are available (on request).
- It is recommended to use the products at a temperature close to 18-25°C to facilitate mixing and application.
- Lower temperatures will increase the viscosity of the mixture and the gelation time, but the resin will not crystallize at low temperatures.
- Conversely, higher temperatures will reduce the viscosity of the mixture as well as the pot life.
Surface preparation:
In general: all substrates must be sanded, cleaned, and dried.
- On previously painted surfaces: thoroughly clean to degrease the surface and sand with 80-100 grit paper or remove all previous coatings in poor condition and prime the substrate.
- Steel: prime with ANTICO PRIMER A + B to offer a good anti-corrosive base.
- Aluminum: it is recommended to follow an etching/passivation process.
- Wood: Prime only stable constructions, with RESOLCOAT 1010 / 1014.
- GFRP: For osmosis treatment, prime the sanded fiber with 1020L / 102xL to waterproof the substrate and lightly sand/defrost before applying the 8050L / 8059 filler putty.
- Bare GFRP/COMPOSITE: Remove the surface wax/release agent with a degreaser, sand with 80-100 grit paper. Sand between layers of 8050L / 8059 epoxy filler with 80-100 grit paper to ensure good mechanical adhesion.
Repainting:
RESOLTECH 8050L / 8059 can be coated with itself. RESOLCOAT 3010T / 3014T can be applied over the previously sanded and cleaned putty.
Warning: It is recommended to carry out validation tests before industrial application.
