BALTEK® SBC100 is a structural core material manufactured from selected, kiln-dried Ochroma pyramidale (balsa) wood in an end-grain configuration, offering excellent strength-to-weight and stiffness-to-weight ratios. It provides excellent compression and shear properties, exceptional fatigue resistance and a closed-cell structure. It is ideal for vacuum infusion and compatible with the main resin systems.

It maintains its technical integrity during high-temperature processing, fire exposure and contact with chemicals such as styrene.

BALTEK® SBC100 balsa wood is suitable for a wide range of static and dynamic load applications in the marine, wind energy, transportation and industrial sectors.

It is sustainably grown on FSC®-certified plantations owned by 3A Composites Core Materials or sourced from controlled sources.

BALTEK® SBC100 is fully traceable from seed to core. FSC® MIX certification is available in selected markets.
