Composites and marine / Wood · laminating and bonding
Wood-epoxy construction combines wood, resin and fibre reinforcement where the design requires it. Selection depends on whether you will wet out, laminate or prepare a filled joint.

Wetting out fabric and filling a joint require different behaviours. Fillers are selected for the specific function.
On boats and load-bearing parts, laminates and joints require their own engineering design.

Laminating and wood construction
Resoltech 1020 can coat wood and form joints with suitable fillers in wood-epoxy construction projects.
For fillet joints, the resin needs fillers or thickeners to give it an adhesive consistency. When laminating on a cured surface without peel ply, sand, clean and degrease before continuing.

1020 ECO alternative
1020 ECO system for hand lay-up and wood-epoxy construction.
Plan laminating and bonding separately: 2040G ECO paste can be used for fillet joints and 3350 ECO thixotropic adhesive for other bonds. Prepare surfaces and design each joint for the loads it must carry.
Resoltech 3350 ECO / 3358T ECO High-Toughness Epoxy Adhesive: Thixotropic adhesive for project joints that require a bonding paste.
Resoltech 2040G ECO/2045G ECO Structural Epoxy Adhesive for Wood and Fillet Joints: Adhesive paste for wood fillet joints in the 1020 ECO system.

Wood laminating · vertical or overhead
1020T allows work on vertical or overhead faces of wood-epoxy structures without the resin sagging easily.
For fillet joints, add fillers suited to the joint. When continuing over a cured layer without peel ply, sand, clean and degrease before applying the new laminate.
