Resoltech 1070/1076 Hand Lay-Up Clear Epoxy Resin

RESOLTECH 1070 CLEAR is a colorless epoxy lamination system formulated for the manufacture of transparent composite parts, with a high-quality gloss finish and high mechanical properties.
 
1070 CLEAR is an epoxy system formulated for professionals who manufacture surfboards, windsurfs, kiteboards or other pieces that require a shiny and transparent surface appearance.

On white foams (polystyrene and PU) the addition of the Optical Brightener additive (sold separately) significantly increases the whiteness effect of the board. To be incorporated at 1-3 drops per 100g of resin, in the top layer.

This epoxy system has excellent wettability. The film obtained will be perfectly colorless with a carbon fabric and transparent if applied with a silionne-type glass fabric.

The viscosity is suitable for application with a spatula or brush and the surface-active properties provide a bubble-free surface.

The system has been formulated to leave no free amines, thus allowing an uninhibited finish with a polyester topcoat. It will polymerize at room temperature. A post cure will increase the temperature resistance of this system like most epoxies.

- It is recommended to use the products at a temperature between 18 and 25°C to facilitate the mixing and impregnation of the fabrics.
- A lower temperature increases the viscosity of the mixture as well as its gel time.
- On the contrary, at higher temperatures the viscosity of the mixture decreases as well as its gel time.
- With this system the standard procedure for working with epoxies is also applied. 1070 CLEAR resin can be applied by trowel or brush.
- In the case of lamination without using peelable fabric, it is recommended to sand (finish the surface), dust and degrease the support before laminating.

IMPORTANT, the two components must be mixed to the exact measure. Mix very well in a clean container, dragging the sides and bottom correctly and then transfer to another clean container, where we will continue stirring. This is done because even if the products seem to be well mixed, parts may remain unmixed on the walls of the container and at the bottom, this can cause the resin not to gel correctly in certain parts, leading to a bad result.
